How to join

Come along on a club night on a Tuesday from 8pm onwards and try out Petanque, if you enjoy it and want to continue you can join the club as follows:

Annual subscriptions are currently :

Adult membership (over 18) £52.00 per year (including OAPs) which includes Towers Petanque membership & Brook Weald Social Club membership.

From the 1st April Towers members will need a Petanque England licence which is necessary for competitions and insurance purposes, this is purchased directly from the Petanque England website and has various tiers for club social members or regional/national players.

Junior membership (under 18) £10.00 per year which includes membership and an English Petanque Association licence, which is necessary for competitions and insurance purposes.

Members joining after 1st July (in any year) will be entitled to reduced subscription fees : £45 per adult and £5 for juniors under 18.

Inter Regional Presentation

A presentation was held on 21st September for Francois, Richard, Christian, Dean and Mark who missed theirs at the IR Championships at Pakefield where the Eastern region won their section and were promoted into the top tier.

BBQ & Petanque at Towers

Great family and friends BBQ Day and Pétanque at Towers PC on the 29th August.

Anders Risberg and Dean Preston won the overall competition, Jean Wilmot and Zoe McCauley runners up, winners of the plate won by Jane and Claire Hobbs

Eastern Counties Petanque Triples

A great day today at Towers Pétanque for the Eastern Counties Region Pétanque Triples. Congratulations to the Gold Winners, François Bourquin, Anders Risberg and Dean Preston. Runners up Ian Anderson, Jean Wilmot and Chris Wilmot. Plate winners – Feering Bell team, Ian Barnes, Carol Barnes and Dave Pearse and Runners up Colin Roper, Naheb Thodabux and Peter Way.

Ongar Festival Success

Various Towers teams took part in the John Sear 2022 Pairs Challenge competition held at the Ongar Festival on May Day where 40 teams competed in a well organised competition.

TPC finished strongly with David Hermosa and Richard Shaw winning the Gold trophy and Charlie Littleton and Francois Bourquin taking the Silver section.

Jeff Tyler Lifetime Member

TPC recently awarded Jeff Tyler lifetime membership of the club in recognition of his considerable service over a period of nearly 40 years, most of this period Jeff has been the club treasurer and our thanks go to him for such dedicated commitment.

President’s Cup Winner

The Towers President’s cup competition was held recently over a series of Tuesday evenings with the final being contested by Francois Bourquin and David Hermosa, after a close match David came out the winner and our congratulations go to him.

Towers on French Tour

A team from Towers represented the club in an international tournament at Dives sur Mer near Cabourg recently.

With teams from around France, Belgium, Poland & Germany the Towers players held their own both on and off the pitch.

The organisation was excellent and the French hosts very welcoming, we hope to send more teams to the competition next year.
